Sam’s Club’s customer service SUCKS!

Posted on | February 18, 2013 | No Comments

Have you ever been treated like s*@t badly at Sam’s Club?  Then this is the post for you.  I finished my weekly shopping today, with my kids in tow, paid for my groceries and went to leave .  If you are not familiar with the system, on your way out of Sam’s you hand your receipt to one of their employees, they check it and highlight it and you continue on your merry way. Only it didn’t quite work that way for me.  I had never seen the lady, we’ll call her D., that was waiting to take my receipt before and she wasn’t friendly like they usually are, so that should have tipped me off right there.  She starts to count the items in my cart and says they don’t match up.  FIVE times she counted and then, as the line behind me was building up, she rudely tells me to move to the side.  She wouldn’t look at me, or answer me when I asked her what the problem was, just muttered under her breath something about me having too many items in my cart, code talk for stealing.

“Really”, I said, “you think I am stealing”? We’ll of course she won’t answer me, she just continues to count.  It was then that I started to pay attention to what she was counting, and hear her mumble 11. I double check her and ask her if she is telling me that I have 11 items in my cart, which is too many.  She says yes, and starts to count again (mind you, no one else is checking receipts, so there are now a huge number of people waiting and watching).  So as nicely as I can, I say to D., “you do realize that my receipt say’s that I bought 12 items and that you are accusing me of stealing when you only count 11?”. D. still won’t look at me, takes a long pause like she’s trying to figure out something, then says “well, we check for both, underage and overage”.  At this point, she still won’t let me go, so I ask her to call a manager.  She does and then gets another lady (thankfully, she was extremely nice) who easily counts 12 items in my cart and marks my receipt.  I know, you are happy for me and you might think my ordeal is over now, but no.

So the manager, R., arrives.  As she does so, we are watching D., who is now checking out some of the people waiting on line and making fun of me.  She is actually laughing about my ordeal and motioning to me.  Now I am so upset they have put me through this that I am visibly shaking. Did I mention that my kids are there watching them treat me like this?  I point all this out to R., the MANAGER, but it didn’t matter to her.  She really didn’t care how D. treated me and actually told me “it is none of your business how I discipline my employees”, after I asked her a totally different question.  She didn’t ask D. to apologize and basically gave the standard “sorry”, not meaning one word of it.  She even attempted to intimidate me by trying to get my name and information after I looked at her tag for her name.  Finally, she said I could leave and just went back to where she came from without one word to anyone.

We’ll, now I know why it is impossible to find an e-mail for Sam’s Club unless you give them all your information first.  I’m sure a lot of people won’t want to complain if it’s not anonymous.  But not me.  Not today.  I will play the game, and include a link to this post with every one I talk to.  Shame on you, Sam’s Club, for allowing your customers to be treated like this.  Maybe you should pay attention to your nice employees and promote on of them.  I know quite a few that would never let this happen to one of their customers.

If I get a response I will be sure to update you.

HEXBUG Nano Easter Egg Party

Posted on | May 19, 2011 | No Comments

I was lucky enough to be chosen to have a HEXBUG Nano Easter Egg party (thanks to BSM Media for supplying the HEXBUGS).  If you haven’t heard of them yet, HEXBUG Nano’s are small, really cute little motorized bugs that bounce all around.  I am definitely a huge fan of HEXBUGS, the kids love to play with them and they are super small, so storage is really easy.  Even the play sets break down and fit together to take up the least amount of storage space, and I am all about the storage issues.

We had our little party a few weekends ago, with a bunch of kids between the ages of 2 – 12 trying the toys.  They all had a blast.  The two year old was a little small, and while she got such a kick out of the bugs and had a lot of laughs, I wouldn’t let her play with them unsupervised.  As for the rest of the kids (age 5-12) they all loved them and had a great time.

I really thought this would be all about the boys.  I figured the girls would get bored and move on to something else quickly, but they didn’t.  Even the older girls who were 12 had a lot of fun playing.  They made up games and played off and on all day.  When asked, every kid there said that they would love to get more HEXBUGS as a gift and that they would be cool to give as a gift if they had a party to go to.  This is the second HEXBUG party that I have done and there is not one bad thing that I can think of to say.  The whole experience was extremely positive, and I know at least one of the moms there has spread the HEXBUG love by buying them as gifts.

Prices are climbing

Posted on | April 9, 2011 | 1 Comment

I can’t believe how much and how fast prices are rising.  The cheapest I could find gas in my area this morning was $3.73, and that’s a bargain compared to some of my friends in N.Y. who are paying $5.17 a gallon in some areas.  But it’s not just the gas.  I spent about $20.00 more this week on items that I buy all the time.  Some of the items that I found have really gone up are milk, butter, snacks for the kids like granola bars and meats.

With things getting worse by the day I’m really getting concerned where this will stop.  While we are doing fine now, the truth is there isn’t much more we could cut back on and live normally if anything were to happen.  I really feel bad for the people who are busting their butts to make ends meet yet are constantly faced with more hardships like rising prices.  Last year, with the kids getting bigger and needing more things, I upped our weekly budget to $150.00, but I think we are going to pull back and try to do $100 a week  again.  What I wouldn’t give for a grocery store that has double or triple coupons!
