Cheap Ink?

Posted on | July 16, 2009 | 1 Comment

One of my readers (thanks, Amanda!) recently asked me where to go to buy the cheapest printer ink cartridges.  She has the non-brand name ones you refill, but is having a hard time and needs to get the HP brand so it works right.  In the past I have bought mine from BJ’s Wholesale Club or Staples.  BJ’s sells the cartridges in bulk, 3 or more in a package, and when they go on sale or have a coupon it’s a great deal.

I used to get it at Staples, they would send me tons of coupons and when paired with deals and rewards I made out great.  But the rewards program is no longer that good, and I haven’t received a coupon from them in months.  Same goes for Office Depot/Office Max, whichever one is still around.

Where do y’all get your ink from?  Anyone have any suggestions?  Do you refill your existing cartridges and if so does it work as well?   I’m going to do a bit of research, check Ebates and the like, but if you have any tips I’d love to hear them.

I don’t have just one place to buy ink. I search around and see who has the best deal each time. One time I may have a coupon and get it on sale at Staples, the next time I buy it on ebay. Prices on ink change so your best bet is to just look around and see what you come across.
