Coupon and Blogging Lingo

Here are some of the most common abbreviations in the coupon world ~

2/$5 = Two items for $5.00. Can be used with any combination of numbers and amounts.

$5/2 = $5.00 for two items. Can be used with any combination of numbers and amounts.

AR = The final price of an item After Rebate amount is applied.

B1G1 or BOGO = Buy one get one free.

Blinkie = Coupons that you find in a machine on the store shelf. They have a blinking light on them and dispense coupons as you take them.

B&M = Brick and Morter, meaning you must physically go to the store to get the deal. It is not available online.

CAT = Catalina, this is a coupon or “money” that prints out seperately from your receipt at grocery stores for a future purchase in that same grocery store.

CRT = Cash register tape, this is a coupon that prints at the end of a receipt. You also get them from scanning your CVS card on the price scanner located in the store.

DC or Double Coupon = Coupon amount is doubled, so a $0.50 off coupon will become $1.00.

DD = Darling Daughter.

DH = Darling Husband.

DS = Darling Son.

EB/ECB = Extra Bucks are CVS rewards that prints on your receipt after you make a qualifying purchase using your Extra Care Card that you can use like money on your next purchase. Some times referred to as Extra Care Bucks.

ESC = EasySaver Coupon from the monthly booklet at Walgreen’s.

ESR = EasySaver Rebate, which is money you can earn back by purchasing certain items at Walgreen’s. Information located in the monthly booklet.

FAR = Free after rebate.

GC = Gift certificate.

HBA = Health & Beauty Aids.

IMHO = In my honest opinion.

IP = Internet printable coupon.

ISO = In search of, looking for an item or coupon.

MFR = Manufacturer.

MIR = Mail In Rebate.

MQ = Manufacturer coupon.

OOP = Out of pocket, how much actual cash you will spend.

OOS = Out of stock, store has no more of the item on sale (so get a rain check!).

OYNO = On your next order, many catalina’s can only be used on the next purchase you make not the one they printed on.

Peelie = Coupon that is on a package that you peel off.

PG/P&G = Proctor & Gamble coupon insert from Sunday newspaper.

PITA = Pain in the ass.

POP = Proof of purchase found on item.

PSA= Prices start at.

Qualifier = Item(s) needed to be purchased to complete a rebate.

RC = Rain check.

RP = Red Plum coupon insert from Sunday newspaper.

RR = Register Rewards are Walgreens rewards that prints on your receipt after you make a qualifying purchase that you can use on your next purchase.

SS = SmartSource coupon insert from Sunday newspaper.

Stacking = Some stores allow you to use a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon on the same item.

V = Valassis (the company that distributes the Red Plum coupon insert).

WYB = When You Buy.

YMMV = Your mileage may vary. Just like everyone travels a different distance to a store, not all deals work the same for everyone. You may have a different experience then someone else on the same deal.
