CVS – Extra Bucks have changed
Posted on | July 29, 2009 | 2 Comments
Did you notice anything different when you paid for your CVS items with your extra bucks this week? I did. One transaction where I should have had a zero balance, or close to it, I paid an extra $0.97. On the receipt there were two lines where I was charged for tax.
Now I’m not complaining, I get lots of stuff free, or close to free. Although it stinks, paying a little bit of tax isn’t what I’m worried about. It’s the fact that they have changed the wording on the receipt. It now states CVS MFG coupon when you use your extra bucks. Meaning that they are listing extra bucks as manufacturer coupons. I’m concerned that they are going to change the way they accept extra bucks and it will get harder to use them, like at Walgreen’s. It may also interfere with using other manufacturer coupons. I’ll keep you posted if I hear anything else.

I was over at iheartcvs.com and there is a post there regarding this as well. I did not realize the change, but did notice the amount showing to me has been different than what the cashier tells me. It is a bit frustrating as this caused me to lose 25¢ in ECBs the other day. I know, it’s not that much but I could have gotten a candy bar or something to make up the difference. Now I know.

Yes,I have noticed a difference recently.I always add my grand total including tax before I go to checkout.Lately, the cashier will that I owe more. For example,I had it added up to $14.00 and she said I owed another dollar. It happened again today.Cvs is messing with us.I am having to throw extra stuff in to buy,and losing extra bucks rewards. These d*** companies always have to play games.
