Good CVS Trip and an easy scenario for beginners

CVS has some pretty good deals this week. I will probably stop back later in the week when I’ve had more time to check the deals, but this is what I picked up today. Just a reminder that ECBs are Extra Care Bucks that print out on your receipt and can be used to purchase most items at CVS.Stayfree $4.50
Stayfree $4.50
Stayfree $4.50
Stayfree $4.50
Icicles $0.25
Tylenol Rapid Release 100ct $8.50
Nutra Trim gum $3.99
Children’s throat cooler $4.99
Children’s throat cooler $4.99
Coupons I used:
- Stayfree buy one get one free ($4.50 value in today’s coupons).
- Stayfree buy one get one free ($4.50 value in today’s coupons).
- Tylenol Rapid release $2.00 off (from the paper, not sure when).
- Children’s throat cooler buy one get one free ($4.99 value, coupon from the paper, not sure when).
- Coupon mailed to me by CVS for $5.00 off the purchase of $25 worth of items which included the Stayfree and the Tylenol.
$40.72 original total
-$20.99 in coupons
=$19.73 left. I used $18.97 in ECBs and my out of pocket was $0.76. I Earned back $23.97 in ECBs – $10.00 for the Stayfree & Tylenol ($10 back in ECBs with a $20 Johnson & Johnson purchase on select items), $3.99 for the Nutra Trim gum, and $9.98 back on the Children’s throat cooler.
The January deals are a great place to start for anyone new to CVSing. There are 3 items that are free after ECBs and you can buy 2 of each (I do think the limit is higher as my receipt does not say limit reached on the Children’s throat cooler). You can find these items on the back page of the January flier at your CVS store. The following calculations are before tax.
- If you have no coupons you can start by buying one Nutra Trim gum for $3.99.
- Then in a second transaction buy your second box of Nutra Trim gum. Use the ECB’s you just earned and it will be free. Plus you will earn back another $3.99.
- Then purchase one Children’s throat cooler for $4.99. Use the $3.99 you just earned in ECBs and your total will be $1.00. You will earn $4.99 back in ECBs.
- Now purchase another Children’s throat cooler for $4.99. Use your ECBs and it will be free. You will earn $4.99 in ECBs.
- Then buy a NasoGel spray for $7.99. Use the $4.99 in ECBs and your total will be $3.00. You will earn $7.99 in ECBs.
- Buy another NasoGel spray for $7.99. Use your $7.99 in ECBs and it will be free. You will earn $7.99 in ECBs.
So for $7.99 you will have 2 boxes of throat coolers, 2 boxes of Nutra Trim Gum and 2 NasoGel sprays (a $33.94 value). Plus you will have $7.99 in ECBs to use for next time! If you are daring you can use some printable coupons to make this a really sweet deal. You will need to change the scenario or buy some fillers though. Your total can’t be negative when you check out.

I went to CVS tonight and found out that the limit on the gum is 3, not 2. So just an FYI
