Marshalls

Have you been to Marshalls lately?  I don’t usually shop there, but I had a gift card and wanted to get some shopping done.  Marshalls was nice enough to give me a $25 gift card to show you what I could get (I have another one for TJ Maxx!)!  Why didn’t anyone tell me that I was missing out?  Marshalls has great stuff, it is very similar to (my beloved) TJ Maxx, with lots of brand name items at great prices.  Sit down before you read on, I’m about to shock you – I actually paid full price for items.   I know!  It’s OK though, Marshalls full price was already almost 50% off what I would have paid somewhere else.

For the holidays I always give money to my kids teachers, the class mom usually collects and buys them some kind of gift card.  My kids like having something they can give to their teacher as well.  It can get really expensive so I hope to find something under $5.00 for each teacher, but I really found a bargain this time.  It’s hard to tell from the picture, but I bought a tower of body butter tubs.  It was $5.99 and there are 7 individual tubs inside, each with a cute snowman label on top.  So I’m going to separate them, wrap them individually, tie a candy cane on, and voila – a great gift for each teacher that cost less then $1.00!  They had a ton of similar gift items to choose from as well.  Here are the rest of my bargains:

Harry Potter book $0.70  (reg. $8.99)
I love you Mommy book $2.00 (reg. $8.99)
2 packs – 25 count scrapbook paper $1.00 each (reg. $7.00 each) – I just have to make note that the paper is heavy stock and reversible, if you scrapbook you know what a great deal this was!
Slipper Socks $2.99 (reg. $5.00)
Slipper Socks $2.99 (reg. $5.00)
Large Bath soap $2.00 (reg. $6.00)
Slipper Socks with large tub of foot cream $3.00 (reg. $12.00 – another great deal)
Purple headband $0.70 (reg. $3.99)
Teenage turtle shirt $2.00 (not sure what the regular price was, but it’s a really soft, well made shirt)
Miken Kids shorts $1.00 (reg. $14.00)

So before tax I spent $25.37 for $92.97 worth of retail items.

I saved $67.60!

Not bad right?  The only thing for me was the scrapbook paper.   The rest are for gifts, so I got to cross quite a bit off my to do list.  There was also really nice set of silverware I’d like to get for my sister-in-law,  who just got married.   I wasn’t sure if it was a good price so I didn’t get it.  After visiting 2 other stores, it was the best priced (by $10), so I hope it’s still there by the time I get back!

If you have a Marshalls near by stop in and check out what they have.  Items vary by store, so if you find even better deals let me know!
