Online School Solutions

I was recently asked to review Online School Solutions and I learned quite a bit when I checked out their site.  Did you know that your middle or high school students can take classes online?   While I am aware of all the courses available for adults, I did not realize you could take classes online as young as the middle school level.  This could be a really amazing alternative for many kids.   Whether your student is home schooled, in need of more assistance, looking for a wider range of classes or simply prefer to learn in a medium that they have grown up with, online learning can be a great way to fit your child’s needs.

Students are increasingly able to take online classes in partnership with their local school districts.  Schools facing budget cuts and a reduction in teachers are turning to online classes to supplement their curriculum, from offering classes for which they have no teachers, Advanced Placement® classes for students who excel, and credit recovery options for students who struggle.  In fact, today there are 1 million children learning online, either part time, full time or between school terms. Additionally, more than 20 percent of schools and educational institutions around the country offer online classes today, and that number continues to grow.

I have been able to take a few classes online, and it’s been a wonderful experience.  My kids have many different sites that they use to study and it has been an extremely effective tool for us.  The idea of them using the Internet to take classes while in middle and high school is very appealing to me.  They love to be on the computer and to be able to learn and interact with other students in an online environment would be exciting to them.

KC Distance Learning (KCDL) offers online learning options to fit all types of students and learning situations.  Check out their website, Online School Solutions, to see how your student can benefit from learning online and see the KCDL schools serving your area.   You can get a sneak peak at how an online class would look here (you must download their software to view it) and can  click here to view the different curriculum options.
