I am a true believer in warranties. I have had the misfortune of knowing what it’s like when something expensive breaks and there is nothing to back it up. Knowing that, if we need to purchase something expensive we look into the warranty.

The only thing that would stop me from purchasing an extended warranty is the price. Many items already come with a one year manufacturer’s warranty and if the expense for additional coverage isn’t justified I will forgo the extended warranty, although I hate to do it.

My great bargain finding sister found a way around that problem. Square Trade is a website that she uses to purchase warranties at an amazing discount. Now like anything else, you need to do your due diligence and check out all your options, it’s the only way to be sure you are getting the best deal. That said there is the potential to save a lot of money here, the company claims an average savings of 40%, so it’s worth checking out.
