Trip to Walgreen’s

After I get my rebate back, I will have been paid to take everything in this picture home. Not bad right? I told you about some of the great deals that Walgreens has this week, but when I went yesterday it didn’t go quite as planned. I still got great deals, but wags is wising up to us deal finders and changed the way the razors rang up. Hopefully this was just at my store and you won’t run into this issue.

The insert stated that the razors were on sale buy one get one free for $6.99, but they rang up $5.99 for one and $1.00 for the other. When I tried to do all four on one receipt the 3rd one rang up $3.50 and the 4th was $3.49. In reality if I used 2 buy one get one free coupons on this deal I would only receive $1.00 off one and $3.49 off the other. So I had her take off the last two razors and did them in a separate transaction so they would ring up $5.99 and $1.00.

Luckily I have great girls over at my store and they gave me $5.99 off on the bogo coupon instead of just $1.00. So instead of getting the razors free, they cost me $0.50 each. All the other deals worked out as planned and I will still make money once I get my rebate back. Here’s what I did:

$19.97 – $15.98 = $3.99

Total out of pocket for both transactions $5.99 + $3.99 = $9.98. The Olay rebate for 2 Quench lotions is $15.98 ($7.99 each). So even after tax and postage I will have received everything in the photo for free and have a few dollars left over.

Liz, our WAGS have always rung up BOGO items strangely, and since they choose to do that, I choose to do most of my business not there. That is not buy one get one free. That’s two for the price of one, which is very different when using coupons. Boo!
