Zippity Doo’s ~ review and giveaway

Zippity Doo’s, catchy name right? Zippity Doo’s is a line of children’s hair care product that helps prevent head lice. Around here head lice show up at school at least once a year. My kids come home talking about how the school nurse checked their heads, or even worse they bring home a letter informing us of an outbreak.
I am a total germaphobe, so the idea of my kids getting lice really freaks me out. We have been lucky enough to avoid it so far (I know, I never should have said that). The second I hear the word lice the girls have to wear a pony tail everyday and my son gets a buzz cut. But I know families that have gotten it and it’s not a pleasant experience.
Zippity Doo’s products contain natural ingredients that are mild enough for daily use and provide health benefits to the hair and scalp while helping to prevent lice infestation. They are also paraben-free!
My view on the products is a little different then my kids. The three of them did not like the smell of the shampoo and conditioner at all. One of my girls was very vocal about her dislike of the smell and may have influenced the opinions of the other two (especially my son who usually couldn’t care less). Once they were done washing and rinsing though, the smell was fine and didn’t bother them any more.
On the other hand, I like it. It smells fresh, clean and a little minty. The shampoo lathers really well and the conditioner gets out the tangles. My favorite products are the sprays: the leave-in detangler and shield spray. The leave-in detangler leaves my girls with smooth shiny hair and frankly the shield spray just makes me feel better, like I’m protecting my kids.
I can’t tell yet if it works to keep lice away, but you can be sure that at the next mention of lice at school I will be gelling and spraying my kids like crazy. I’m not sure what the price for these products will be, the frugal part of me will have a hard time buying the shampoo and conditioner if they are too expensive. I would definitely spring for the sprays though, if it prevents the aggravation & trauma (not to mention the additional cost) of getting head lice it’s well worth it.
Now the fun part – want to try Zippity Doo’s yourself? The great people at Zippity Doo’s are giving another set of the products pictured to one of my readers! Shampoo, conditioner, gel, leave-in detangler and shield spray – you get them all!

I would try these products. Anything not to get the lice. My son’s school has sent 2 or 3 letters this school year.

I learned that the shield spray isn’t just for hair, but can be used on “all surfaces, including
hats, helmets, backpacks, pillows, bedding, toys, combs, clips, berets and
other items and hair accessories that may harbor lice, nits and other insects”!

My husband and I just found out we are having twins and these kind of natural products are what we would love to use with our children. I like how they are natural ingredients.

I noticed that these products are sold at CVS. I would like to try the detangler on my daughter’s curly hair.
